Here are some key highlights about using jumper cables safely and effectively:

1. Check Battery Voltage – Ensure both vehicles have the same voltage (e.g., 12V).
2. Turn Off Both Cars – Before connecting, turn off both vehicles and remove the keys.
3. Identify Terminals – Red is for the positive (+) terminal, and black is for the negative (-) terminal.
4. Correct Connection Order –
   • Connect red clamp to the dead battery’s positive (+) terminal.
   • Connect the other red clamp to the good battery’s positive (+) terminal.
   • Connect black clamp to the good battery’s negative (-) terminal.
   • Connect the other black clamp to an unpainted metal surface on the dead car (not directly to the battery).
